When restoring a complete arch with an implant-retained full arch prosthesis, the choice of material becomes extremely important. Acrylic surfaces on a titanium bar have been utilized for many decades now and have a high incidence of tooth fracture, veneer delamination, and occlusal surface wear. Zirconia frameworks with layering porcelain also have shown to have problems, including porcelain chipping or debonding of the titanium inserts.
