Don’t Suffer Unnecessarily

At a severe level, tooth pain can keep you from eating, sleeping, and even concentrating. Your first thought may be to have the source of your pain removed. While that is a possibility, Dr. Joon Han and Dr. Aneeqa Malik always first attempt to save a natural tooth through treatment. If we find the tooth untreatable, we’ll have no choice but to extract it. Should that happen, rely on the training and experience of our board-certified prosthodontist and two general dentists to make the experience as worry-free as possible. When you need tooth extractions in Schaumburg, IL, count on us.

A Gentle End To Tooth Pain

If you’ve been suffering from tooth pain, be assured that we’ll make the removal process comfortable for you with our anesthesia options. We have an in-house doctor certified to administer IV sedation (or “sleep sedation”), if needed. Once the extraction area is numbed and you’re relaxed, our team will gently remove the affected tooth by pulling it with forceps. We’ll take great care to avoid damaging the gums, socket, and any neighboring teeth. While wisdom tooth removal can be a more complex surgical procedure, we can provide that service too. After an extraction is complete, we’ll send you home with special care instructions.

Aftercare And A Smile Upgrade

Tooth extraction sites require special care to heal properly. Empty tooth sockets typically form a blood clot during that process following an extraction. If a clot doesn’t form or comes loose, you can develop a painful complication called dry socket. We recommend that you follow all instructions to avoid the condition.

The other recommendation we make for post-extraction care is not to let the site remain empty for too long. Jawbone tends to decay in areas where there’s a socket but no tooth. To prevent this from happening and to enjoy the benefits of a full, healthy, attractive smile, consider dental implants. These look, feel, and perform just like natural teeth, and are made to last. You can even have them placed during your extraction appointment! Ask for a dental implant consultation whenever you need a tooth removed.
